Petite viree a Desaru - First day of the (CN) year in Desaru

Non, non, je vais tres bien, merci de vous inquieter.. Le boulot + pas grand chose a poster sont mes seules excuses :)

Ceci dit, Gong Xi Fa Cai (Bonne Nouvelle annee chinoise) a tous! Ce long week end fut l'occasion de recharger un peu les batterie.


Hello all! No, don't be surprised, there is indeed a news here. A little busy at work, spending week ends at home.. so there was not much for us to post. These are my excuses :)
This being said I wish a Great Lunar New Year to all. Welcome to the year of the Ox!

Nous avons profite de ce petit conge pour faire une escapade d'une journee a Desaru, au sud-est de la peninsule malaisienne, pas tres loin de Singapour. En tout et pour tout: environs 100km jusqu'a Desaru, et 30km de plus jusqu'au petit village cotier, repute pour ses fruits de mer. Cliquer sur la carte a droite pour agrandir.


This small holidays was for us a nice opportunity to go around Singapore (litterally!): Naeem, one of our friends, kindly suggested that we take a day-road-trip in Desaru, on the south-east coast of Malaysia. Deal! Desaru, here we come!
All in all, about 100km to Desaru and another 30km to the small fishing village famous for its Seafood. As always, click on the map to expand.


Au Total, 2 voitures: Une famille d'amis (C.H. et sa famille), Neem, Reiko et moi dans l'autre.

2 Cars in total: C.H. and his family in one, Naeem, Reiko and I in the other.

Premiere Etape, la frontiere: plutot facile. Il y a 2 connections par pont avec la malaisie, donc les douanes sont plutot bien organisees sur chacuns de ces 2 points frontaliers.

First step: crossing the border. There are only 2 roads connecting by bridge Malaysia and Singapore. The Immigration Checkpoints are therefore quite well managed.

En approchant de Desaru, une plantation de fruits tropicaux. Chic, on s'arrete pour visiter un peu.

On the way to Desaru, a tropical fruit-farm. Great, let's stop for a while..




Dites, vous aviez deja vu un Ananas pousser vous? Je pensais que le fruit se dandinerait tranquillement d'une branche.. quelle erreur -__-

Les ruches d'abeilles ont l'air plutot mignones non?

Incroyable: le plus grand papillon que j'ai jamais vu. Et en espace naturel en plus (pas en voliere). Il recouvrait facilement une assiette plate. Cliquez pour agrandir.

Nous voici enfin arrives a Desaru. Malheureusement l'hotel n'a "plus que 2 chambres de libres" (comme par hasard), en Deluxe vue sur la mer, au double du prix normal (bizarre bizarre). Nous decidons donc de rester pour boire un coup seulement.

Arrived in Desaru, we tried our luck in the local Pulai resort. As "Chance" had it, there were only two room left (what are the chances of that, huh?), unfortunately these were deluxe rooms with sea view, at twice the standard room price. Not buying this excuse at all, we decide to only stay for a few drinks only before heading for a great Seafood dinner down the road.
